You're an artist. You shouldn't need to think about LUFS, about Fletcher-Munson curves, or the loudness wars. You shouldn't have to compromise between making music that tells your story and music that makes sense in a stranger's playlist. At Liquid Electric, we don't believe you need to decide between soundsystem weight and headphone detail. We believe in music that is devastating when played loud, and intimate when played quietly. We prioritise sonic impact, audiophile quality and most of all, your vision.
Andrew Maxam has 25+ years of experience in sound, including a decade-long on-air run at Sydney's FBi Radio. With a focus on records that are as interesting as they are functional, his sound calls back to the days of high budget, cinematic alternative music. Seeking to recreate the sound of garage bands, electronic acts and experimental sound artists recording in luxurious physical studios, he knows how to make a home recording sound less like a file on a laptop and more like music that exists in a place, with a natural sense for when the music wants to be clean, and when it wants to stay messy.
